Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been achieved on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev won his initial title for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has endured a challenging year, winning just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in specific - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and finally separating with former mentor Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set win over challenger Moutet.
It is his initial championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court since spring of the previous year.
The win also means Medvedev has won twenty-one championships at 21 distinct competitions.
"It's the first time I'm at a event with my two daughters together, so to get a title is particularly special," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, including in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive play style and regular emotional displays on court had led some to question if his capacity to play at the top level was concluded.
However the athlete has made changes in the past month, striving to approach the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an improved service.
The champion came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Moutet, taking four of the concluding five points to take the lead.
Both players swapped break points in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial professional championship, gained dominance to push for a final set.
He rescued 4 early-game break points in a competitive third set before the champion broke to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner secured the win with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
